The Experienced Driver's Path

SkillFit Driving Skills Assessment

Don't pay for beginner lessons if your teen already drives! Our SkillFit™ Driving Skills Assessment scientifically evaluates prior experience. This 60-70 minute in-car test determines placement in our Basics or Advanced curriculum, ensuring you invest wisely in the right training. It’s the smart start for non-beginners.

Why Guess When You Can Know?

Every student driver is unique. Yet, typical driving schools often skip a crucial first step: understanding your teen's actual skill level. They throw them into a generic program, hoping for the best. This "one-size-fits-all" approach wastes time and money.

Florida Driving Academy operates like a true academic institution. We believe in scientific placement through testing. Just as schools test students to place them in the correct grade, our SkillFit™ Driving Skills Assessment scientifically determines your teen's current driving competency.

This comprehensive, 60-70 minute in-person evaluation is designed specifically for students who are not absolute beginners. Conducted by a state-certified instructor, it covers six critical modules (detailed on the right).

The Outcome: Tailored Training, Maximum Value

Based on their performance, your student will be placed into either our 8-session Basics Level Curriculum or our 6-session Advanced Level Curriculum. This ensures they receive instruction perfectly matched to their needs, maximizing learning efficiency and respecting any prior training you've provided.

Just as the state requires a driving test for a license, FDA requires this skills assessment for proper placement. Stop guessing. Start with SkillFit™.

The FDA Difference: Setting the Standard

Why do we insist on this assessment? Because we believe in a higher standard for driver education.

  • A Mark of Quality: Our commitment to assessment is tangible proof of our academic approach. We believe a structured evaluation is essential for building competent, confident drivers through a process families can trust.
  • Empowering Informed Choices: For parents carefully considering their options, this assessment serves as a clear indicator of a high-quality, structured program – a key difference to look for when comparing schools.
  • Serving the Public Good: By championing this rigorous standard, FDA strives not only to deliver exceptional training but also to contribute positively to the overall quality of driver education. We believe raising the bar benefits the entire community and promotes safer roads for everyone.
